One day as i was walking to school, i was day dreamin bout Boo. I said hi to him, and he said hi back... We were having fun on the swings, although my dream was very short, it makes me want to meet him that much more. That day in class Mrs. Gates gave us this speech on Hitler, and boy could i tell she did not like this man. She said how he killed everyone and how he was a bad man. But whenever we asked why the government didnt stop him, she told us he was the government. I dont understand how only one person can be a government but apperently he can.
Later on in the week i wanted to talk to Jem about the trial. He told me he never wanted to talk about that trial ever again, and stormed off!
I was walking to my school play, all dressed up in my ham costume, when Cecil, jumped in front of me and scared me. Once we got to my play i was exhausted from playing all of those games. So i fell asleep, and completly missed my que to go on stage, but for some odd reason i just walked on stage, a little after i was supposed to. After the play i was too imbarresed to show my face, i waited to leave, then, once we started to leave, somebody honked at me and asked if we wanted a ride. Jem said no and we walked on. A while after, i heard something, and then i felt someones stomach, and after i could figure out what happend, Jem and i were at the house. Jem wasnt talking, so i got really scared. I asked dad if he was dead, but he made me wait for a doctor. Mr Heck Tate was at our door, and he was accompanied by a country man i never met before. Atticus got a chair for Mr Tate, but not for the other man, I wondered why, but i was too scared to care about it.
After a while the doctor left, and Mr Tate said that Mr Ewell was dead, and had a knife in his stomach.

tkam 6 (atticus)
Tom admitted he passes the Ewells house a lot, and usually helps Mayella with her chores, but never hit her. In fact just the opposite he said, he said that she jumped on him and kissed him and said "i never kissed a man, now kiss me nigger"!
Tom then went on to say that he saw Mr Ewell and Bob called Mayelle a whore, and thretend to kill Tom.

Alexandria and Atticus have been arguing for the longest time over if Atticus really should be defending Tom Johnson. She thinks it is ruining the family name. Late that night, Scout, Jem and I all sneak out and Atticus to town. We saw him reading the paper, in front of the jail. Jem said we shouldn't desturb him, and we should just go home. Right as we are about to leave a bunch of cars came and a bunch of people came out of those cars. They yelled at Atticus to move but he refused. Scout then jumps out and yells for her dad we all followed her. Atticus orders us to go home, but Jem refused.
The men that we have 15 seconds to leave. Scout see's Mr Cunninham, and tells him to say hi to walter for her. He says he will say hi to walter for her. Atticus then takes us home.

Today was the very first day of teaching career a first grade class at my new school. I am trying to teach the children a knew way of learning, hopefully soon it will be taught by the whole school. So, right away i try to teach class by teaching the class how to read and write, but of course their is always that one naughty girl who had to have had her dad teach her how to do this previously, because their is no way that this child could read stock reports better then i could. Her name was Jean Louise Finch, she had tried to explain to me that her dad didn't help her, but that only angered me that much more, so i slashed her! I started to cool off, because i knew lunch was going to be coming up soon, and i knew that the sandwich store down on 14th street was just going to be superb , so i waited. I asked everyone if they had lunches, or money for lunch, and everyone said they did, except one kid. I offered him a quarter so he could walk downtown, but he wouldn't take it. I told him just pay me back tomorrow, or whenever he could. He awkwardly stared at me and he just said he couldn't accept my money, so once again Jean Finch, who tells me to call her scout, interrupts my class to tell me he won't never pay me back, because he is a Cunninham. She then goes on saying how they the poorest people in Maycomb, but also the nicest. I was very upset that she was so ignorant about this family. After school i walked home, and i saw ol' miss scout, and i saw her do the nastiest thing i ever did see. I saw her grab into a tree of some random house, and i then saw her take out a shiny piece of foil, so i followed her some more. I saw her run to her house. Then i saw her un-rap this piece of foil, then throw a piece of wrigley's chewing gum into her mouth. That girl is nasty.

immigration reflection
I decided to paint a picture of a woman holding her baby girl. When I was thinking about what to paint I thought a lot about my book. I 1st thought how the book is about family, so I was thinking about paint a line down the middle and a family with half of the family on one side and the other half on the other side, and the words Haiti on one side, and America the other side. I would have put this because only part of the family went to New York at first. Then I thought trough and didn’t like that idea, so I thought of a mom and here baby, because my book was about birth, but there was also a lot of death so I thought of a mom and her baby, because that represents the circle of life. I don’t feel a great connection between my artwork and my book, because I don’t think its east to see what I thought while painting. I think my final painting looks good, in my final draft I hadn’t put stripes, but then I did on my painting, so I am glad it turned out good. I liked how we did a piece of art instead of a long paper for a reflection. I think that it was good, because it was different so we got a new experience.
My interview process was extremely aggravating! At 1st my interviewee and I emailed back and forth for maybe 2 emails. Then he stopped replying and so I called him and no one answered. So after about 3 weeks, I gave up on him, and changed people. So then it went pretty smoothly. I interviewed one of my friends moms and it was really easy. I think it made it seem like immigrating was actually somewhat enjoyable, because she said she thought all of America was like Disneyland, and she was extremely excited to come here.

final post!!!
I chose this because in this story there family had to deal with a lot of deaths it seemed like, so i chose it. It deals with the 5th question, because it seems to me like death is a hardship this family really had to get used to.
Did it seem like to you a lot pf deaths took apart in this book?
Narrator Pg 257: I don't want him to die!
I chose this because like i said earlier this family had a lot of hard times, so i think this would go under #5 or # 2. I think that because i think it was a big hardship, and because i think death makes it hard for somebody to immigrate to a different country!
Do you agree with me that it makes it hard to immigrate somewhere?

This shows that where this family lives is a bad neighborhood, because there was somebody with a gun in there neighborhood. This deals with question #4 because it is a hard thing to deal with in America, crime, because we have such a high crime rate!
I can not really connect with this, because i dont really see very many crimes done in my neighborhood, but i can connect because when there is a crime or a fire in the neighborhood all the neighbors know about and can talk to each other as soon as possible.
Have you ever had to deal with crime?
pg 202: Cimo, Siag, Minustah, Civpol - narrator.
I chose this because this is the kinds of officers they have in Haiti, so if she is talking about them obviously this has something to seal with her homeland and that deals with question #2 i think, because they are talking about something from there homeland, while in the USA.
Have you ever lived some where else? If yes do you ever travel there?

Blogpost #4
I think this has to deal with question 4, because it is a big deal when you lose someone, if it's death, or when you leave a country and you leave someone, it's a big obstacle.
If you were in Uncle Joe's case what would you do?
"Narrator: Pg: 147 When ever i could i like to spend a few extra days to my trip, so i can stay in Bel Air.
I think this has to do with question 5 because a lot of times when you have a bad life, then you get rewarded, or even if just one good thing happens, you like it to be as long as possible. I think that she really is having trouble in America so she likes to feel like royalty.
Do you think that she likes visiting her uncle?

Immigration reflection
AN immigrant might leave there native country because of war or crime rate in there homeland.
Our country can offer freedom(ie: Religion, who to vote for), a democracy.
I believe that our nation has been affected for the good, i think that without other countries we wouldn't have as much of the good foods that we do now! i also think our country would be so bare, because we would only be American, and not have any different cultures.
I personally don't have a huge connection to immigration, my mom and both of her parents were both born in the USA, and the same with my dad. My great grandma on my moms side was born in Hungary. I don't have any friends who are immigrants, but i do know a couple people who immigrated. Our cleaning lady since before i was born immigrated here from Russia. A few of my friends families are immigrants, one of my best friends whole family was from Iran but then they immigrated.

book prt 3
Our new home was a two-bedroom apartment on the sixth floor of a six-story brick building in a culdesac off Flatbush Avenue called Westbury Court.
This deals with the number 5 question, because they are working a really long time and very hard, and all they can afford is a 2 bed apartment.
How does reading this quote make you feel.
I can kind of connect this to a different book i read one time, it was about a family who moved from New York to New Mexico, and since everything was cheaper in New Mexico they didnt work very hard and they were a very wealthy family.
So how i connect those two books are that they are the opposite, but still somewhat simmilair.
We're really spies from space. We have spy stuff inserted in our heads.
When i read this part i was really supprised,i didnt know what to think, i didnt know if they were sarcastic or what. I kind of believe it but i kind of dont really know what to think.
I liked this quote because it makes me think outside the bok. It makes me feel like you never really know somebody until you actually know somebody.
If someone just told you they were from space, how do you think you would react...

book post #2
This goes with number 5 because not finishing high school,or not going to college can be very tragic later on in your life. A lot of times in this case your life is not very good, because you could not get a good job because you don't have a degree or anything...
Do you think this family is screwed up at all???
----Daughter
----page49
Quote 2:"Death is a journey we embark on from the moment we are born."
----Bob
----Page 73
This quote kind of goes with question 5 because if somebody dies that is a huge deal, and something you have to deal with for a long time... But this also belongs to number 4 because death is a challenge they go through, and it is an obstacle you think about your whole life....
How do you think death has affected this family?

brother im dying #1
I can connect this to most people who immigrate to America. Most of the time they have to work very hard in the beginning of there time in America.
Do you think after reading about all the families problems this family will ever get through all this mess?
Quote 2: Who said this quote: Daughter. Page 45 I had calculated that from 1981-2004 working an average 10 hours a day everyday including holidays but not Sunday's he'd spent nearly 75,000 hours driving the streets of Brooklyn.
My quote deals with question #5 because if the father had to work 60 hours a week to keep his family worm and to provide food on the table, that is a really big thing the family would have to deal with! I think that after a while of living in America the family will still be able to provide, while working less hours.
What other Hardships do you think this family will go through during the course of the book?

Museums
By Ben Stein
The purpose of going to the Jewish immigrant museum was to learn about how Jews immigrated to America, and to learn a little about certain people who helped America grow as a country that happened to be Jewish. Throughout my years of going to temple, I learned a lot of the facts we learned at the museum. Some interesting information I did learn was that the first Jews to immigrate came in 1654. During the Civil War Ulysses S. Grant had submitted that Jews should be illegal in Tennessee and in Kentucky. Right away the current president Abraham Lincoln canceled it because he thought it was to racial and he didn’t approve. This was a very big controversy, they even had a code for it. It was called order number 11. Another very big obstacle in the Jews way was the KKK (Ku Klux Klan). They were not the biggest fans of Jews. They killed a lot of Jews, but they didn’t only assassin Jews, they killed African Americans, and Catholics. Another huge event in the Jewish culture was that many Jews were kosher back then, so they only ate certain meats. In the grocery stores kosher meats were 18 cents per pound but regular meats were 9 cents per pound. So 20,000 Jewish women protested by throwing the meat in the streets, and stealing the meats. The kosher meat didn’t go down dramatically, but it did go down to 14 cents per pound. Some very famous Jews that have lived in America were: Baseball player Hank Greenberg, mathematician Albert Einstein, comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld, and to some belief author Dr. Seuss, or to his birth name Theodor Geisel.
Quote: I come from two very different worlds with two very different mindsets. By Rishtka Daryani from High Tech Middle.
I chose this quote because a lot of the time I feel like I am from two worlds. At one point I can try to be funny. Other times I can be serious, when I play sports and I get in the mode I can be very serious.
Picture: The picture i chose was,the picture Boy from Poland made in Chicago in 1999.
He’s just looking into a window, he looks confused. I chose this because at one point in there life everyone is confused, everyone wants to know where there going in life. I think that is what this artist is trying to say.

book review
Enrique's Journey
Sonia Nazario
Personally I wasn't very fond of the book Enrique's Journey. It is about a Honduran boy, named Enrique. 11 years after his mother left him and his family he goes off to find her. All he has is a little piece off paper with her new address on it. He has a lot of things to overcome, first of all he starts out as a alcoholic then he becomes a drug addict, and worst of all to get to U.S.A from Honduras he goes on top of trains, stows away on trains. This book really showed Enrique's trek through Central and
On a scale 1-10 I would rate this book maybe a 5 because it did have good qualities. I liked it because it was kind of cool never really knowing if Enrique would ever get rid of any of his addictions, or if he would ever find his mother, or even if when he tries to hop a train, you never know if he will land or if he would fall in the middle and die. I think it’s a real interesting story because of those reasons. I didn’t like it because I felt like because it was only about him trying to escape to
